The village of Metamorfosi, situated on the western side of the entrance to the Sithonia Peninsula Halkidiki, is an area full of fragrant pine trees, lovely beaches and small coves with turquoise waters that create an exotic setting.
The village has about 400 inhabitants, and is located at a distance of 98km from Thessaloniki.
The habitants of Metamorfosi are refugees from the Near East. They are very hospitable, willing to offer their precious services to local and foreign tourists.
Nature has given the area wonderful beaches, starting from the point where the pine-tree forests stop and is ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The beach of Metamorfosi is a wide, sandy and clean beach, surrounded by a natural environment with its original fauna and flora.
As a result to the beauty of its surrounding nature, Metamorfosi beach offers photo-competition with environmental subjects and drawing competitions.
In summer, numerous hotels, rooms to let, greek folk art souvenir shops and restaurants offer their services to numerous tourists.
Additionally, visitors can entertain themselves in some of the many and various bars, discos and cafes. At the beach you find several water- sport facilities pedalos, windsurfing, canoes,etc.
