The distance of Corfu town and the airport it’s about 45 km and the drive time you need to get there, its about 45 minutes. It used to be a small fishing village when in the early 80's it became a popular tourist destination. Every year from than it was growing bigger and bigger. Today it is a large commercial resort that can offer accommodation to 17.000 holiday makers!
Of the approximate 285 villages on this large and diverse island, Sidari is unique with plenty of clubs, music bars and pubs, that offering a great nightlife! What make Sidari different and unique are the several little bays with small beaches around the area of Sidari and Peroulades.
Valentine Channel is the most popular tourist attraction in Sidari, many tourists come to this town specifically to visit this objective.
One of the places to be visited is Mount Pantokrator, this is the highest point on the island - 900 meters - and from that point offering an overview of the whole island but the coast of Albania.
The most beautiful beach of Sidari is Apotripiti, separated by stone walls nearby the Love Canal (canal d'amour). To get to it, you need to get to the west of Sidari resort, to Peroualdes. The area is spectacular rock formations in the sea due to digging over time. The channel name is linked to the myth that says that if two lovers will cross the channel together will stay together until the end of life. If the water surface landscape breathtaking diving enthusiasts will surely be impressed. In Love Canal there are a lot of underwater caves that can be explored. The water is clean and fine beach. That is why many prefer to rent a sunbed for the day (about 8 euros for two) and relax there.
Sidari beach is the largest in the resort. The water is calm and very shallow. Along the beach and have made their way dozens of bars and restaurants. In season, the beach is pretty crowded and sunbeds near water cost five euros per person, and the remaining 3 euro. Drinks are priced from 2 euros, and part of the beach bars allow guests to use their sunbeds for free, as long as it is done in the same place consummation.
