Adelianos Kampos (or Kambos) is located 6km east of Rethymnon, near the village of Adele, on a flat plain. The name means “Plain of Adele”. It is actually a seaside suburb of Rethymnon, as the small village has grown so much in the last century, that it is now a part of the city.
In front of Adelianos Kampos stretches the vast sandy beach of Rethymno Gulf and extends to Skaleta. In the part of Adelianos Kambos you will find large and small hotels and many options for eating, shopping and entertainment. The beach is very well organized with umbrellas, lifeguards, changing rooms, showers, bars, etc. It is very popular for the water sports and beach sports infrastructure. The sea here is shallow, but often wavy, like all open beaches of north Crete. Sea turtles lay their eggs on this vast beach, thus you might see some marked points with ropes and signs.
Adelianos Kampos can be accessed very easily by local buses running from the city center.
