It is one of the most important ancient spiritual sites in Europe, dating back over 1000 years. Around 190 BC The statue of the goddess Niki, also known as "Nike of Samothraki" or "Winged Victory of Samothraki" was found. The original is at the Louvre, and the museum hosts only a replica.
