Situated 12km south west of Rhodes town and only 3km from the international airport, Kremasti is a traditional village with very modern elements. It’s the seat of the Municipality of Petaloudes, and also possesses a well-organised tourist infrastructure.
Kremasti is a coastal village and because of its proximity to the airport and also to a number of popular resorts and attractions nearby, it provides a large number of hotels and other type of accommodation, as well as restaurants, bars and cafés that take care of tourist needs.
A fairly strong wind blows here most of the time as Kremasti is on the Aegean Sea, which is far windier than the whole of the eastern coast, on the Mediterranean Sea. But this is music to the ears of surfers and other water sports enthusiasts who will tell you that the waves are ideal for their type of sport. The most suitable sport for these conditions at Kremasti seems to be kiteboarding.
An efficient bus and taxi service connects the village with surrounding areas and with the city. The bus schedule is frequent and reliable and runs till late in the evening.
