Keramoti is a resort near Kavala and the nearest place on the land to the island of Thassos.
In the past Keramoti was known only as the place from which the ferry to Thassos with the shortest route departs, but in the last two decades it has developed as a resort and its popularity among tourists is increasing more and more.
Situated on a small peninsula with an interesting shape, it has a fine sandy beach surrounded by pine groves. The beach has a magnificent view of the island of Thassos and the small uninhabited island Thasopoulia. There are several beach bars and spaces for football and volleyball but the beach strip is so vast that you can easily find a secluded spot on the sand. Water is very clean and shallow, even offshore.
In Keramoti there are enough family hotels and restaurants to make your vacation complete. Many tourists rent rooms in Keramoti because they are cheaper than those in the hotels of Thassos and combine holidays on the beach with day trip to the island. In summer season ferries to Thassos depart each 30 minutes and arrive at the port of Limenas, the capital.
