About Katelios - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
Katelios is a lovely beach and one of the most picturesque villafes of Kefalonia that lies 30 km away from Argostoli, the main town between Skala and Lourda. The area is known for its peaceful atmosphere, ideal for a family vacation. The beach is not a tourist resort but a relaxing spot with lush green hills that provide a beautiful backdrop. It is a protected area and tourist facilities are not allowed here. The coast is much preferred for long walks and sunbathing. At the main road of Katelios you will find a couple of nice beachfront cafes and fish taverns. A stroll around the village that lies amidst lush green forests with olive groves and lush vegetation in the green valley is quite interesting and refreshing, especially for the nature lovers who will surely appreciate such an experience. Some of the historical sights you shall visit is the impressive church of the Virgin and the tiny village of Markopoulos which is built amphithetrically on a high altitude with a perfect view to the Ionian sea.
Katelios | Katelios, on the south-west coast of Kefalonia, was little more than a hamlet until about twenty years ago, when tourists first discovered the beauty and tranquillity offered by the sandy beach and flat farming land in the plain behind
