Kanali is a coastal village and a community in the Preveza regional unit, in northwestern Greece. It was the headquarters of the former Zalongo Municipality. The community consists of Kanali, Kastrosykia, Mazi, Nea Thesi and Pidima Kyras. Kanali is located on the Ionian Sea coast, 13 km north of Preveza.
Kanali is 10 km away from Preveza. It is located on one of the longest beaches in Greece (about 13 km), in the middle of the Gulf and is the only city that has developed on the coast, under the motorway. The old town is above the highway and is not developed tourist.
Kanali develops tourism in an accelerated manner, hotels and villas are built quickly, as the city has a strong tourism potential, which is not yet fully utilized. The prices in Kanali are quite affordable, compared to the prices in Parga and Syvota.
At this moment Kanali is a quiet place for vacation, without a lot of tourist attractions in the city, but with the possibility to easily visit the sights, beaches and larger tourist places. In the city there is everything you need for a decent holiday, such as a store, a medical clinic, a park, a church. It is ideal for those who want a quiet holiday and who need nothing more in the city.
