Kambi is renowned for its beautiful sunset, one of the best places on the island to see such a spectacular setting. It is a village on the west of the island surrounded by olive groves, fields and vineyards.
Kambi has many interesting examples of life from the Mycenaean times, for instance the Mycenaean cemetery of tombs. Many of these tombs were opened in the past and destroyed by looters, but others contained weapons and vases which archaeologists have studied to gain a deeper understanding of life from this period.
Kambi is dominated by a mountain called Schiza, easy to spot due to the large cross erected to commemorate the lives lost in the Greek civil war and Second World War. There are several coffee shops and tavernas which offer superb views, not just of the sea, beaches and cliffs surrounding them but also of the famous Kambi sunset; this is a superb place to come for a romantic evening.
Many trips are available to enjoy traditional Greek nights, delicious Greek food and the local Zakynthian dances performed by professionals wearing traditional costumes and of course the chance to join in the dancing and to enjoy the sunset - all these factors provide a night not soon to be forgotten.
Opposite Kambi is a small island imaginatively called Seal as its shape resembles a seal. The island has several pot-holes, in the summer the water contained in these holes turns into salt.
Kampi | The village of Kampi is very pretty and traditional. It is located 30 km north of Zakynthos Town and it has only 60 inhabitants who are engaged in agriculture and farming. The village is quite famous for its breathtaking sunset views
