About Gerakas - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
Access to the beach is limited between 7.00-19.30, to protect the turtles and create the perfect setting for giving birth to the chicks. Also, you are not allowed to stick the shadows in the sand so as not to endanger the turtle eggs.
The flora and fauna on this beach are protected and no water sports are allowed.
Sunbeds and umbrellas are quite expensive, in high season the price for two people is about 20 € (even 30 €, depending on the period you go) for the whole day or 10 € - 12 € for 3 / h.
The crystal clear, warm water with smooth entry makes it ideal for families with small children.
There are no restaurants on the beach, but there are a few shops nearby with quite high prices, so if you don't want to buy water or other overpriced products, it would be a good idea to come equipped with everything you need.
There are also several restaurants near the beach.
There are no showers and toilets, at the end you can have access if you go up to the parking lot.
Because there is no music, no water sports and no taverns, Gerakas beach is not recommended for tourists looking for fun.
There are plenty of parking spaces, so no matter how crowded the beach is, you will have room for the car.
Gerakas | Gerakas is located in the southern part of Zakynthos Island and is certainly one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. The beach is a large strip of velvety sand, under the protection of the Zakynthos Island National Maritime Park
