The city of Chania is the second most populous city of the island and the capital of the homonymous prefecture. Unaltered to an extent so great tourist phenomenon intensely, keeps the old charm of the period in which the proud title of the administrative capital of Crete. The sights are concentrated mostly in the old town, which stretches around the beautiful Venetian Harbour. At the entrance, guarding the old Venetian lighthouse and its opposite are Firka Fortress Naval Museum. Many other historic attractions and arhitectornice will surprised at the elegance and their age: Venetian fortresses walls (1540), Kastelli, the district churches Splantia Agios Rokka, Agios Nikolaos and Agios Anargyrioi. Archaeological Museum is located in the basilica of St. Francis, a Venetian church from XIV century. Going to meet the new town Public Market with local products and traditional coloring, Public Gardens, Historical Archives of Crete (which is the second largest volume of documents and assets). In the eastern part of the city is Chalepa aristocrat and his home suburb of Eleftherios Venizelos.
Chania Airport is less than Heraklion and is located in Akrotiri peninsula, near Souda Bay, a distance of about 14 km from Chania. The official name of the airport is "Ioannis Daskalogiannis" after a Cretan who rebelled against the Ottoman occupation in the eighteenth century. In Chania tourists can find many offers accommodation for every budget, both in the city center and near the beaches. Chania has many restaurants and cafes, most of the old city.

Chania is a destination that we can recommend to anyone, it is suitable for any kind of vacation - and for young people fun at low prices, and for couples who want peace, and for families (there are many hotels, from 2-5 * who have apartments that can accommodate even 5-6 people and have kitchenette).
Natural conditions and landscapes are completely different from what most of us expect. The region is green paradise of Crete - resorts and areas of the resorts are studded with olive groves, citrus and other Mediterranean species. In fact almost every hotel, no matter how small, has a garden, an orchard, flowers, shrubs. At times you end up feeling like you're in the middle of Austria and not Greece ...
