About Arkasa - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
Arkasa is one of the largest villages on the island, known for its peaceful atmosphere, golden sandy beaches (such as Agios Nikolaos Beach, partially visible in the picture) and picturesque sunsets.
History: The area has important historical significance. The ruins of the ancient acropolis of the ancient city of Arkesia are located on the hill of Paleokastro (the rocky island in the picture), a settlement that flourished in antiquity.
Attractions: In addition to the archaeological sites, the village offers tourist facilities, traditional churches (such as the Church of Ypapanti) and many hiking trails in the surrounding area.
