The long beach of Alykes and Alykanas is a wide sandy bay and is certainly one of the most beautiful in Zakynthos. The beach is famous for its beautiful sand and shallow warm waters. It is a safe beach for families with children, as they can swim safely in warm and clear waters. The beaches are ideal for all types of water sports, because there are no Caretta turtle nests that do not allow motor boats to pass through this area.
Alikanas | Located 18 km north of Zante, in the quieter part of the island of Zakynthos, Alykanas has kept the quiet, traditional atmosphere, while having modern attractions. This area owes its name to the salt lakes (called "Alykes" in Greek) that can be found here,
being used in the past to supply salt to the entire island of Zakynthos
