Agios Ioannis (St. John), is a beautiful and wild beach located in a bay in the southeast of the island of Thassos, somewhere after Kinira and before Aliki.
Near the beach, there is a plateau with olive trees and at the beach there are sunbeds and umbrellas. The beach is with fine sand mixed with large stones. The water sinks quite abruptly, however the underwater landscape is amazing. Spectacular diving can be done with a pair of diving goggles and a breathing tube. The Bay of Agios Ioannis is full of fish, sea urchins and starfish and many other marine life.
Not being a large bay, the water is not very agitated, there are no big waves and there are no strong underwater currents. But the water is slightly colder than in other places.
Agios Ioannis is a secluded beach with transparent waters and is ideal for snorkeling. The coast has pebbles and rocks.
